TeenCare is building Emotional AI for families, backed by VCs and international organizations such as Iterative, Acumen, EMpower, and Solve MIT. About Youth Mentor - The Homeroom Teacher for Each Student

You will become an impactful educator who supports students in developing healthy habits, life skills, and constructive ways of thinking. To do so, you will continuously grow both professionally and personally.

 

Your Role at TeenCare

As a Youth Mentor - acting as a homeroom teacher for each family - you will:

  1. LEARN - Develop Your Teaching Competencies
  • Participate in one weekly training session
  • Engage in self-paced learning through TeenCare’s learning platform

  1. APPLY - Put Knowledge into Practice
  • Facilitate weekly or monthly 1:1 mentoring sessions using the provided curriculum, supporting students in problem-solving, developing their mindset, enhancing life skills, and improving mental well-being, while also helping parents assess and support their child’s progress
  • Monitor learning progress, collect feedback, and report mentoring outcomes to optimize teaching quality and improve student retention
  • Maintain engagement and collaborate with TeenCare’s teams to communicate with parents via email and messaging
  • Commit to accompanying students throughout their 3 - 12 month learning journey to ensure sustainable, long-term impact

Mentor Performance Criteria

  • Input Metrics
  • Minimum Working Commitment
  • Commit a minimum of 15 hours per week, combining both learning and mentoring responsibilities
  • Spend at least 10 hours per week conducting live mentoring sessions with families for at least 30 minutes per session during the following time slots (Phillippines Time (GMT+8)):
    • Monday - Friday: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
    • Saturday - Sunday: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM
    • Provide additional interventions depending on real-life situations when necessary
  • Working Format: Remote
  • Minimum caseload: Support at least 18 students within the first month, based on matching from the TeenCare operations team.

  • Attendance Rate
  • Goal: Sustain a student attendance rate of ≥85% consistently - daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Learning Outcomes
  • Goal: At least 70% of students in each group demonstrate clear and measurable improvement.
  • Parent & Student Satisfaction (CSAT)
  • Goals:
    • Maintain an average CSAT score of ≥ 4.6 / 5
    • Ensure no negative feedback is ignored or left unaddressed

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Able to speak Tagalog and English
  • Passionate about education, enjoy working with teenagers, and genuinely committed to supporting students’ holistic development
  • Strong growth mindset and dedication to lifelong learning; serious and responsible in both learning and teaching
  • Self-driven, highly accountable, and willing to both practice and improve continuously - striving to become a mentor with both heart and impact, while developing personal competencies aligned with international standards

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduated from universities such as the University of the Philippines Diliman, De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, etc.
  • Former students of specialized high schools, academic award winners, or individuals who have studied abroad after high school
  • Open to applicants based in the Philippines. Experience in online teaching, counseling, or youth development is a strong advantage.

Compensation & Performance Bonus

💰Estimated Monthly Earnings: $200 - $500+ ($3/per 30-minute 1:1 mentoring session)

💰Allowance based on number of assigned students: $20 - $70/month
